Other Characters Played: Rose Tyler (
Character: Bela Talbot
AKA:
Alex
Lugosi
Series/Fandom: Supernatural
Original or Template version: Original
Age: It's never given, so I'm assuming around 28 (she seems to be around the same age as Dean in the show).
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Sexuality: Straight
Apartment:
Marked? No
Appearance: Bela is of average hight for a woman (if not slightly taller), and, if anything, has a petite frame for her size. She has longish wavy brunette hair, but has been known to wear wigs (a short black one, in one episode of the show) to change her appearence for a job. Her eyes are blue.
She's definitely attractive (that's the first thing Dean notices about her, watching her walk away), almost in a dangerous "she can kill me" sort of way. She dresses nicely, with clothing that fits her figure, but also fits her lifestyle (she knows how to stash guns in not-so-loose jeans)--everything from jeans and tops for day-to-day, the occasional disguise (a waitress outfit), or fancy dresses, if they're called for.
Though she naturally has a British accent, she's able to adopt an American one.
Personality: Though Dean describes her as a bitch, Bela is really more amoral, working for herself, and selling to the highest bidder, forgetting anyone who gets caught in the crossfire. That's not to say she doesn't really care about other people, so to speak, she just cares about herself a whole lot more--although she has Dean's cell number on her phone, and refuses to give his location to someone looking to kill him and Sam, especially when the man offers her $3000 ("I don't get out of bed for $3000"), she reconsiders when she sees that the man has a priceless artifact, telling him that if he gives it to her, she'll give him the location of the boys. . She hates being in people's debt, and will pay them off instead of saying thank you (she gave Dean and Sam $10,000 for saving her life, and didn't even bring up "thank you").
Despite that, however, she seems to have at least a little bit of a conscious--after she gave away the boys' location, she called them to give them a little bit of help, later on. So, she's not completely heartless.
She doesn't display emotion unless she's in a really tight situation (like she's dying or something), and is a bit of a snarky ice queen. She also carries herself with a slightly smug air like she knows better/is better than those around her (...well, if those people are hunters, anyway, and judging her *coughDeancough*).
Oh, and she's pretty mysterious. Not much is known about her.
Abilities/Strengths: She's very cool under pressure (and that includes when she has a gun to her head), and slightly manipulative--she knows hows how to get under people's skin to get her way, and uses that skill a lot. She's smart, and knows what she's talking about; it's a good idea to listen to her in a crisis. Though she's not a master of disguise, she's good enough at concealing who she is so that people get a completely different impression of her than who she really is.
Oh, and she's pretty good with a gun.
Weaknesses: Her main weakness is herself--she will do anything to preserve herself, even destroy something she had already sold for millions of dollars, or go to people she doesn't exactly get along with for help. Her other weakness is material--money, or something that will get her money. If the price is right, she will do (almost) anything for you.
History: Bela is an occult objects dealer--she secures supernatural and occult objects for rich clients, sometimes giving them fakes, and scamming her clients in other ways, with seances. Really, she's a thief, and a talented one. She knows her way around the demon hunting world, and uses the hunters to get what she wants (objects, information). She's also a bit of a con artist, and is very good at manipulating and scamming people into doing what she wants them to do--having them steal stuff for her, believe her, etc. She has an apartment (a big one, at that) in Queens.
Not much is known about her past, but it is known that she's responsible for the death of a close relative, and it affected her emotionally--she doesn't like to talk about it or have anyone mention it. Also, she had, when we first saw her, just recently returned from the Middle East.
When she's first seen in the series, she had sent someone to steal the rabbit's foot for her, and, after it was found by Sam and Dean, she stole it from them, careful not to directly touch it herself. Dean came to steal it back from her, and the two of them (after he managed to trick her) faced off, pointing guns at each other, in her living room, until he, after touching the foot, got lucky and stole it. Bela then went to steal it back from him, and, after having a bit of a snark fest, she shot Sam in the arm; Dean threw her the foot, tricking her into touching it so that she had to help them destroy it. She didn't leave the boys without getting revenge, though, when she stole all of the scratch tickets they had won money on while they were lucky.
The next time they ran into her, she had stolen Dean's car (he wanted to kill her for stealing his baby) and had it towed, because they were interrupting her work. In the end, she tricks them into helping her steal the Hand of Glory so that she can sell it (she, Sam, and Dean go to a Charity Ball, where she and Dean pose as each other's dates). However, after selling the Hand, she sees the ghost ship that people in the town have been seeing before they die, and she reluctantly turns to Sam and Dean for help (obviously not wanting to die). They find a way to help her, and she lives--but instead of saying thank you, she gives them $10,000, telling them that she doesn't like to be in people's debt. Then she leaves.
After this, she's approached by Gordon Walker, a demon hunter who is looking for Sam and Dean, so that he can kill Sam. Bela initially refuses to give him their location--he offers her $3000, with a gun to her head, and tells her that her deal (after she says that she's much more likely to listen if a deal is offered rather than when she's forced) is that she gets to keep her life, but when she sees him carrying a mojo bag (what she says is priceless), she offers to trade their location for the bag, and he agrees. Bela later calls the boys, telling them about Gordon, and Dean threatens to kill her (again), but she has contacted a spirit to give them Gordon's location, and also passes along some other information the spirit gave her.
